Interdisciplinary Conference on Memory

This conference which is co-sponsored by the WSU Emeritus Academy and the Institute of Gerontology with support from The Academy of Scholars and the Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies will be held on October 26 from 1:00-5:00 pm in the McGregor Conference Center and on October 27 from 9:00am-5:30 pm in the Undergraduate Library’s (third-floor) Community Room. Nine WSU faculty from a wide range of science, social science, and humanities departments will present papers on the topic. In addition there will be three external keynote speakers: Jacob Lassner (Northwestern University), the MADC’s Clinical Core Leader Benjamin Hampstead (University of Michigan), and Craig Dionne (Eastern Michigan University), who will speak on “Middle East Revolutions and Historical Memory,” “Using Functional Neuroanatomical Knowledge to Enhance Memory in Aging and Dementia,” and “Evolutionary Psychology and Memory in William Shakespeare’s ‘King Lear'” respectively.

Faculty, students, and the general public are invited. No registration necessary.
