Healthier Black Elders Center’s (HBEC) second Lunch and Learn will take place on April 26th from 9:30am – noon at Boulevard Temple in Detroit. LaToya Hall, the coordinator of the Success After Financial Exploitation (SAFE) program, will show you how to keep your money and identity safe from predators. Sandra Philpott-Burke from the Michigan Agency on Energy will present information on public service rules to protect yourself from exploitation regarding utility services. HBEC is committed to teaching Detroit’s seniors and their families about aging and health. Each FREE learning series includes two to three presentations by experts on various health topics, a brief overview of the HBEC and it’s resources, and a question-and-answer segment. Participants especially appreciate being able to interact with doctors, health educators and HBEC staff in a relaxed setting. FREE refreshments are served.
Lunch & Learns are held in the fall and spring at various metro locations. For details, or if your church or senior group would like to host a forum, please call 313-664-2616.
